Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 by Hennessey Coming with Over 1,500 Horsepower

As 2024 begins, it’s time for new beginnings, and Hennessey Performance Engineering, the renowned performance modification company, has launched a new division called Hennessey Special Operations (HSO). The division is making its mark in the automotive world by building a performance package for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, which will emerge from the workshops under the name Demon 1700 Twin Turbo.

Production of this car will be limited to only 12 units. It’s worth noting that the first unit benefiting from these modifications will be the car owned by John Hennessey, the founder and CEO of Hennessey. For those wishing to acquire a brand-new modified version directly from Hennessey, after undergoing the modification process, they will need to pay $200,000.

Unlike models coming out of Hennessey’s workshops with larger turbochargers to increase horsepower, the HSO division will operate differently. Instead of fitting the car with an oversized turbocharger, the new package will include two turbocharged Precision 7576 engines, resulting in a total power output of 1,700 horsepower. The new transmission system will be fueled by E85, a blend of gasoline and a high percentage of ethanol, up to 85%.

This car is poised to create a significant buzz as the first project from the HSO division. However, don’t expect this division to undertake multiple projects within short periods. It plans to build only 15 to 20 cars each year. Customers must submit modification requests for their cars to be carefully handled by a selected team of engineers and builders, ensuring they receive a highly powerful and unique modified car.
